Our Story

 

The Village Wine Trader was established in 1992 by Duncan Win and has gone on to become one of the most respected and beloved independent wine merchants in New Zealand. 

Duncan retired in 2024 and the business was purchased by Vanessa Orringe, who has worked in liquor retail management for over 12 years. In late 2024 she rebranded the store to Village Wines and has continued Duncan's legacy and offers a diverse product range including many boutique producers, classic wines from NZ and around the world, a growing range of lo-fi wines and increasing the range of craft spirits, specifically Gin and Whiskey; two of her passions.
